Green Schools and several Green Schools Members were invited to attend a Back-to-School Climate Education Event at the White House on Thursday, August 20, 2015.
“This effort aligns with Climate Education and Literacy Initiative, launched in December 2014, to connect students and citizens with the best-available, science-based information about climate change. The event will bring together students and educators engaged in climate literacy, as well as key leaders in the education community from government, academia, philanthropies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. The program will include an interactive climate “assembly,” fireside chats with senior officials, demonstrations of innovative educational resources, and a panel featuring outstanding student leaders.”
