KAB conf

Special Session: Environmental Literacy

Keep America Beautiful has been involved in environmental stewardship and environmental education for six decades, and continues to explore new programs and partnerships to enhance environmental literacy among  community leaders, student population and faculty, employees of organizations and businesses with an interest in a more environmentally educated work force,  as well as the general public. KAB’s programs (e.g., Recycle-Bowl, Waste In Place, National Planting Day, America Recycles Day) aim to change attitudes and encourage positive behaviors so that people are equipped to make responsible decisions and take action to improve and protect their communities’ environments. These goals are very closely aligned to the concept of environmental literacy, and it is KAB’s goal to become a leading organization that promotes and spreads environmental literacy through its programs.

Green Schools will be participating in a special stakeholders event to advance Environmental Literacy on a National Level.
