Green Student of the Month is a recognition program modeled after the President’s Environmental Youth Awards [PEYA] meets your typical school’s Student of the Month Program with an environmental spin. This program will increase awareness, inspire K-12 environmental action led in our schools & communities, highlight Best Practices, develop our future Green Leaders/workforce, and then celebrate outstanding youth-led environmental projects and initiatives. Schools are typically made up of approximately 400-1,400 students per school, so when we recognize 1 student, the whole school and community celebrates!
Project Green Schools will select 3 Green Student of the Month during the Months of December – May representing their school and community. Selected students will also be recognized and celebrated at our Annual Green Difference Awards Program and throughout Project Green Schools Communications and social media platform including; Project Green Schools News, Green Student News, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and now SnapChat.

Project Green Schools is helping to create the environmental leaders that will shape our future and we are pleased to support its programs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island with these grants.” Chris Buchanan, Walmart Public Affairs Director
