Graduating NGSS Members of Lake Placid Central School focused on raising awareness on issues of plastic pollution by upcycling and selling recycled bracelets made out of plastic bags, turning used t-shirts into reusable bags to help educate residents about the state wide plastic bag ban and selling bamboo toothbrushes to replace plastic toothbrushes.
Other focus areas were around recycling rain water by building and installing a rain barrel and increasing the local pollinator community by building three pollinator gardens at the Adirondack Education Center.
