On March 24th the LaunchX New England Demo Day brought together 200 high-school entrepreneurs and their colleagues from the New England region to showcase students’ work and celebrate their successes building their own companies over the past 6 months. The pitch competition was hosted at District Hall by students for students to build a stronger entrepreneurial community in the New England region and spark their entrepreneurial revolution. Students were tasked with creating a product that solves a problem relating to environmental sustainability and have spent the past 6 months creating their own real profit-generating companies from scratch. The winning team, Natrion, from Greenwich High School in Greenwich, Connecticut created an energy-efficient battery in effort to provide safe, affordable energy storage solutions for clean power grids. Natrion will be pitching their product at the Global Demo Day as a Global Finalist later this month with LaunchX teams around the world to compete for funding for their startups. Project Green Schools has partnered with LaunchX to help students find scholarships and connect them with mentors and professionals in their industry to help encourage students to be proactive in solving the issues of environmental sustainability.

On March 31st the LaunchX Mid-Atlantic Demo Day brought together 200 high-school entrepreneurs and their colleagues from the Mid-Atlantic region to showcase students’ work and celebrate their successes building their own companies over the past 6 months. The pitch competition was hosted at LMHQ by students for students to build a stronger entrepreneurial community in the Mid-Atlantic region and spark their entrepreneurial revolution. Students were tasked with creating a product that solves a problem relating to environmental sustainability and have spent the past 6 months creating their own real profit-generating companies from scratch. 24 teams attended Demo Day and presented their ventures to a panel of esteemed judges involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Boston. The winning team, Sieni Containers, from Ethical Culture Fieldston School in Bronx, New York created an environmentally friendly coffee cup in effort to reduce the amount of waste and harmful chemicals created by disposable cups.
