My name is Sam Salamone. I am currently a senior undergraduate at the University of Vermont studying Political Science and Environmental Studies. I began my work with Project Green Schools when I was in middle school and it has inspired me to continue my course in environmental education and policy into my adult years.

I have been lucky enough to have worked on several research projects throughout my college experience pertaining to environmental justice, energy security, and sustainable education. I hope to use these foundations in research and this position as community engagement intern to extend my knowledge to schools nationally. I hope to identify and expand participation within schools by examining the root causes of youth engagement.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking, and basically anything that puts me outside. Moving to Vermont two years ago has excelled my passion and connection to the environment extensively and my main goal is to pass along this passion to younger generations. The youth are the future. I look forward to becoming part of a larger organization with impacts that will last for generations.
