Leadership

Dr. Amay Singh

Dr. Amay V. Singh, DrPH, MPH, MA, CHES, is a seasoned public health leader with experience advancing health equity, gender justice, and youth empowerment in underserved communities around the world. Her passion for public health is rooted in her multicultural upbringing—growing up at the intersection of American, Mexican, and Indian cultures—and shaped by early exposure to the inequities faced by marginalized communities. These lived experiences continue to drive her commitment to addressing the sociocultural and political factors that influence health disparities.

Dr. Singh holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), a Master of Public Health (MPH), and a Master of Arts in Public Policy (MA), and she is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). She currently serves with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, where she leads strategic youth health initiatives across school-based Wellbeing Centers, supervises diverse educator teams, and fosters strong community partnerships. Her work spans program innovation, crisis response during the COVID-19 pandemic, and cross-sector collaboration on youth-focused health and sustainability projects.

She has authored peer-reviewed publications and led initiatives addressing adolescent mental health, intimate partner violence, and gender equity—always centering the voices and needs of the communities she serves. Dr. Singh brings to her work a strategic, systems-level perspective informed by lived experience, academic rigor, and a deep commitment to public service.
