Emily Riordan

Co-President

Emily Riordan, a senior at Newton North High School, has enjoyed working with PGS’ National Youth Council for the past two years and is so excited to take on the role of Co-President.
Emily is interested in environmental policy and environmental justice. Over the past few years, she’s worked with her state legislators and 4 organizations to advance bills that expand access to housing for individuals displaced by extreme weather and natural disasters. By speaking at 15+ churches and community centers throughout New England, leading community workshops, and organizing youth civics programs, Emily has raised over $51,000 for the cause. At her high school, Emily serves as President of the Women in STEM and STEMentors clubs, where she organizes events and pairs over 100 under-resourced elementary and middle school students with high school tutors.
As Co-President of Project Green Schools’ National Youth Council, Emily hopes to advance student-led environmental initiatives, encourage collaboration between youth and policymakers, and empower the next generation of changemakers through education, advocacy, and action.
