Laila is passionate about making environmental topics accessible and engaging. She won the global Gold Award in the Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest for her documentary, Gone with the Flood, which explores the impacts of climate disasters on vulnerable communities. She is also the founder of the Living Landscape Project, an initiative that provides free native planting kits and resources to help neighbors support local ecosystems and protect keystone species. Her project was recently recognized as a national Top 3 winner in the Girls Who Innovate program.
Outside of her environmental work, Laila enjoys hiking, laughing with friends and family, and spending time outdoors. In the future, she hopes to study biotechnology and develop innovative solutions that protect and restore our planet.
