Melissa has always deeply cared for environmental education from a very young age. She started working with PGS when she was in eighth grade, and continued throughout her time in high school serving as Secretary, Communications Director, and President of the Youth Council at the time. Through her work with Project Green Schools, she was selected to serve on the Advisory Board for Green Schools National Network, attended the Virginia Beach National Conference, attended A Back-to-School Climate Change Education Event at the White House, and was invited to COP 21: The United Nations Paris Peace Conference. Melissa’s previous personal experience on the National Youth Council motivates her to continue to grow the Youth Council and make it the best it can be.
