As Director of School Engagement with Project Green Schools, Nicole Canty develops the conservation curriculum and distributes it to project stakeholders including school districts, student leadership organizations, and teachers. She also cultivates relationships with schools across the country, recruiting new chapters for the National Green School Society.
Previously, Nicole worked as a science and technology teacher in Florida’s Orange and Osceola counties. During her undergraduate studies, she began working as a safari driver at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, paving the way for 13 years with Disney and an ongoing career as a conservation educator.
She holds a biology degree from University of Central Florida and a master’s in environmental education from Nova Southeastern University. She’s been a long-term volunteer docent at Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens and an animal care technician with the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey.
