Sophia is a junior at Parkview High School and is excited to serve as the Outreach Coordinator for Project Green School’s National Youth Council. Her passion in the intersection of data science and environmental advocacy began when she switched to sustainable packaging for her small Etsy business — a decision that not only made her small business more eco-friendly, but also encouraged a growing community of small businesses to do the same. Sophia then went on to found Clean Choices Together, an environmental organization where she combines the power of data, AI, and advocacy to help small businesses reduce their environmental footprint. As Executive Director, she has launched initiatives such as the Waste Estimation Model, EcoAware Journal, Small Biz Stories, and EcoClean Pack, which have impacted hundreds of youth and businesses across 19 countries. Her dedication is further reflected in leading over 100 environmental volunteers, presenting her AI research at the ASA’s WSDS Conference, and delivering STEM lectures at her school. She hopes to inspire and bring many opportunities to the Youth Council members. In her free time, you can find Sophia playing the cello, watching Chinese variety shows, or drying far too many flowers to preserve in handmade resin necklaces.
