Hi! My name is Sophie, and I’m a student from California. Growing up by the coast for much of my life, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating and long-lasting impacts of oil spills and plastic pollution. A love and appreciation for nature was instilled in me from a young age by my surroundings and experiences, which led me to become involved with the environmental activism movement. I think a critical part of environmental activism entails reaching young people and cultivating the next generation of climate guardians, which is what I hope to work on as a part of Project Green Schools. I’m incredibly grateful to be serving on the Project Green Schools National Youth Council this year as the Communications Chair, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
