Project Green Schools is honored to welcome Cory Shin to our Advisory Board.

Cory Shin, a former Project Green Schools National Co-President, hails from the Metro-Atlanta area and is a student at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Currently, he is studying International Studies and Business as a part of the dual-degree Huntsman Program between the Wharton School and the College of Arts & Sciences. Cory is a visionary leader and activist working to tackle sustainability and social impact within the business world.

While involved in DECA, an internationally recognized business and marketing organization, Cory served as a Georgia DECA State Executive Officer and also won Grand Champion at the DECA International Conference. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Cory’s passion for service and community development led him to help manage and lead the Student Advisory Team at the Hamilton Mill UMC Pantry Food Bank, a food pantry that streamlined and innovated to handle numerous challenges posed by the pandemic.

While with the National Youth Council, Cory helped to foster environmental education and awareness, conducting interviews of NBA star Enes Kanter, presenting at the Community Works Institute’s Teacher Webinar, and facilitating monthly engagement projects of passionate council members globally. In addition to his time leading the National Youth Council, in his own community, Cory has initiated community recycling drives, local stadium cleanups, and served in various local and national environmental leadership capacities. He is happy and excited to continue developing environmental programming for schools and students!
